Can you look past my face and into my heart?

I'm not pretty on the outside: my ear is "tipped" because I was thought to be feral--but I was really in pain. My eye is stained from an old injury. I have a lump of scar tissue on my neck. My tail is nothing but a stub--it had to be removed. I'm covered in tiny bald spots from old fights, and when I'm nervous, I rub myself against things and sometimes rub my fur thin.

Can you look beyond my beaten up hide?p>

I was left behind at a resale shop in town when the owners moved--I took care of my cat family: Cheyenne, my mate, and Comanche and Cherokee, my kittens, and my adopted kitten, Shawnee. When the others were caught, I was still out there, frightened, but I took care of little Shawnee, who was very ill. I made sure when my foster parents came to leave food, that Shawnee got the first of it while I stood over her, guarding her.

Now we're in our foster home--all of the family, and I'm so happy. I love to play, not only with my brood, but with the other cats, with my foster parents, sometimes with strangers who come to visit. I really love to be petted and loved, too. I'm a lap cat at heart, and will sit on your lap for hours, my eyes closed, purring away.

Yes, I still have emotional scars: I don't like loud noises, I'm afraid of new people, dogs, small children, strange things...but I've learned to trust, and to love, and now I'm looking for a new home.

I'm looking for someone who has a lot of love to give, who has the patience to let me adapt to new circumstances, who doesn't need a pretty face to love, but who can love a big heart and a great companion. Will you be the one to look beyond the rough exterior and see the beautiful Pat Pat who lives in my fur and maybe--to fall in love with him.

And it wouldn't be bad if I could be adopted with Shawnee Bug either!
