Cause I love to weave in and out of people's legs. I also love to rub my cheek and neck on your shoes. But feel free to bend down and scratch under my chin, behind my ears and rub my head. Leave the rest of my body alone though please.
I'm a good-looking girl – my tabby stripes look almost golden in the sun! I've been here at Paws for about a 1 1/2 years and there's nothing more that I would love than a sunny spot to lounge in, space to run around and play and finally to be the center of your attention. Except in the morning - I am most definitely not a morning cat.
I'm often passed over by potential adopters because I'm too independent. I'm just not a cuddly lap cat. I also have a condition called Stomatitis. Feline stomatitis is a common and painful problem in many cats. It is a chronic inflammation and ulceration of the soft tissues in the mouth. I am currently being treated with medication, but someday that might not be enough.
I’m almost 7 1/2 years old. I would prefer to be an only cat in a quiet household (no children or dogs please). I'm spayed, current on all my vaccinations, and I've tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
So please, walk on down to Paws and ask to meet me. You won't help but fall in love with me - if you don't trip over me first.

PAWS is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1962 by Westport, Connecticut resident Betty Long to rescue homeless dogs and place them in permanent homes. In the early 1980s, our rescue efforts were expanded to include cats. PAWS rescues & rehomes approximately 115 dogs and 435 cats annually. Many of the dogs faced euthanasia at local pounds and most of the cats that we help are strays and abandoned cats that roam our streets. A portion of the pets that come to PAWS have been relinquished by their owners who are no longer able to care for them. PAWS has a handful of paid staff and a team of dedicated volunteers that help with everything to fundraising, to kennel work, to walking dogs and much, much more.
ADOPTION FEES: Effective July 1, 2008
The adoption fee helps us defray the cost of the animal's food, boarding and medical care. Any additional donation you would like to make above the adoption fee is greatly appreciated. Your contributions are tax deductible.
Cats & Kittens: $90
The feline adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccines and testing for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia for kittens over 12 weeks of age (Please Note: No test is 100% accurate for these viruses). We spay/neuter all cats and kittens old enough for the procedures before they go home with you. We also offer low-cost options for spaying/neutering unaltered kittens when they are old enough to be altered.
Dogs & Puppies: $200
The canine adoption fees include age-appropritate vaccines and testing for heartworm. We spay/neuter all dogs and puppies old enough for the procedures before they go home with you. We also offer low-cost options for spaying/neutering unaltered puppies when they are old enough to be altered.
ADOPTION HOURS:
* We show pets for adoption during the week by appointment.
* We show CATS for adoption on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. No appointment is needed.
* We also have open house from 12 noon to 4:00 on Saturdays - no appointment needed.
We can be flexible if the listed adoption times do not work for you.
We encourage people to come in during the week if at all possible. Saturday is our busiest day & things get quite hectic. If you choose to come on a Saturday, please understand that the wait can be quite lengthy.
When coming to see pets, whether by appointment or during the open house, please expect to spend at least one hour at PAWS with the pets. It is important that you spend time with the pets in order to select a pet that is a good match for your family.
