Tell a friend about Twitter

Hi there! My name is Twitter and, yes, I am quite computer savvy for a feline. I'm a "SSF"- that's Single Spayed Feline! I love social networking with my feline friends and have recently decided that networking among humans is for me. I am a stunning white cat with tabby marking and gorgeous eyes. I was roaming the streets of Bridgeport and found a house to spend the night where I gave birth to one little kitten I aptly named Twee. PAWS was kind enough to give me and my daughter shelter and now we are ready for adoption. I like to be around other cats, but I may hide till I get used to things. Once I get used to your place you will see me out and about enjoying my surroundings. I'm about one year old, spayed, up to date on my vaccinations and have tested negative for FIV/Felv. All you need to do is to add love! For more information about our adoption process or to submit an application for this pet, visit www.pawsct.org”

PAWS is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1962 by Westport, Connecticut resident Betty Long to rescue homeless dogs and place them in permanent homes. In the early 1980s, our rescue efforts were expanded to include cats. PAWS rescues & rehomes approximately 115 dogs and 435 cats annually. Many of the dogs faced euthanasia at local pounds and most of the cats that we help are strays and abandoned cats that roam our streets. A portion of the pets that come to PAWS have been relinquished by their owners who are no longer able to care for them. PAWS has a handful of paid staff and a team of dedicated volunteers that help with everything to fundraising, to kennel work, to walking dogs and much, much more. ADOPTION FEES: Effective July 1, 2008 The adoption fee helps us defray the cost of the animal's food, boarding and medical care. Any additional donation you would like to make above the adoption fee is greatly appreciated. Your contributions are tax deductible.   Cats & Kittens: $90 The feline adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccines and testing for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia for kittens over 12 weeks of age (Please Note: No test is 100% accurate for these viruses). We spay/neuter all cats and kittens old enough for the procedures before they go home with you. We also offer low-cost options for spaying/neutering unaltered kittens when they are old enough to be altered. Dogs & Puppies: $200 The canine adoption fees include age-appropritate vaccines and testing for heartworm. We spay/neuter all dogs and puppies old enough for the procedures before they go home with you. We also offer low-cost options for spaying/neutering unaltered puppies when they are old enough to be altered. ADOPTION HOURS: * We show pets for adoption during the week by appointment. * We show CATS for adoption on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. No appointment is needed. * We also have open house from 12 noon to 4:00 on Saturdays - no appointment needed. We can be flexible if the listed adoption times do not work for you. We encourage people to come in during the week if at all possible. Saturday is our busiest day & things get quite hectic. If you choose to come on a Saturday, please understand that the wait can be quite lengthy. When coming to see pets, whether by appointment or during the open house, please expect to spend at least one hour at PAWS with the pets. It is important that you spend time with the pets in order to select a pet that is a good match for your family.
