Especially when you’re lavishing attention on me. Or just sit down and let me sit in your lap, cause that’s what I am. A lap cat. That’s where I’m happiest, sleeping and purring away in someone’s lap.
I had a tough life before coming to Paws. I was living outside and being taken care of by a nice woman. She noticed my eye looked terrible (no pun intended) and asked Paws if they could help. My left eye was in bad shape and had to be removed. I have glaucoma in my eye and get eye drops every day. I don’t really like getting the drops, but I’m a good boy about it. After I came to Paws I was having trouble eating. Paws brought me to the vet and they found out I had an esophageal stricture, meaning my throat was too constricted to allow to food to go down. The vet took care of it, but I can only eat pate style canned food now.
I’ve had a good life since I came to Paws. I’m warm, well fed, and there are plenty of laps. I’m such a great cat that it’s a wonder I’m still here. I’d do best in a quiet home where there’s someone around all the time to give me all the attention I want and deserve. I’m ok with other cats as long as they don’t sit in your lap. I get the lap, it’s mine!
I’m almost 14 years old, neutered, current on all my vaccinations and I’ve tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
What are you waiting for? An engraved invitation? Come down to Paws and let me try out your lap and then we’ll be on our way home.

PAWS is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1962 by Westport, Connecticut resident Betty Long to rescue homeless dogs and place them in permanent homes. In the early 1980s, our rescue efforts were expanded to include cats. PAWS rescues & rehomes approximately 115 dogs and 435 cats annually. Many of the dogs faced euthanasia at local pounds and most of the cats that we help are strays and abandoned cats that roam our streets. A portion of the pets that come to PAWS have been relinquished by their owners who are no longer able to care for them. PAWS has a handful of paid staff and a team of dedicated volunteers that help with everything to fundraising, to kennel work, to walking dogs and much, much more.
