Tell a friend about Zoe & Gracie

Are you seeing you double? Perhaps you are. Zoe & Gracie are pretty much identical twins. That's why Zoe has a collar on, so the staff and volunteers can tell them apart. They are two loving sisters who just love people. They want to be around people and receive attention and love. Zoe is the usually more outgoing of the two and she's a total lap cat. Gracie is bit more reserved, and prefers people to come to her, but she likes to sit in laps too. Neither is really fond of being picked up and cuddled. They both love being brushed. Both are low energy, unless they see a bug flying around, then it's time to get out of their way. Zoe & Gracie were adopted from Paws as little kittens, but were returned because the baby was allergic. While they lived with toddlers, they're not overly fond of children. They were the center of attention for so long, that they are had a hard time adjusting to the smell and noise of children in the house. Zoe & Gracie are 7 1/2 years old. Both are spayed, current on all their vaccinations and have tested negative for FIV and FeLV. They have had some dental work done in the past, but they are both fine and eat well. Two beautiful sisters are just waiting to snuggle with you. For more information about our adoption process or to submit an application for this pet, visit www.pawsct.org”

PAWS is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1962 by Westport, Connecticut resident Betty Long to rescue homeless dogs and place them in permanent homes. In the early 1980s, our rescue efforts were expanded to include cats. PAWS rescues & rehomes approximately 115 dogs and 435 cats annually. Many of the dogs faced euthanasia at local pounds and most of the cats that we help are strays and abandoned cats that roam our streets. A portion of the pets that come to PAWS have been relinquished by their owners who are no longer able to care for them. PAWS has a handful of paid staff and a team of dedicated volunteers that help with everything to fundraising, to kennel work, to walking dogs and much, much more. ADOPTION FEES: Effective July 1, 2008 The adoption fee helps us defray the cost of the animal's food, boarding and medical care. Any additional donation you would like to make above the adoption fee is greatly appreciated. Your contributions are tax deductible.   Cats & Kittens: $90 The feline adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccines and testing for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia for kittens over 12 weeks of age (Please Note: No test is 100% accurate for these viruses). We spay/neuter all cats and kittens old enough for the procedures before they go home with you. We also offer low-cost options for spaying/neutering unaltered kittens when they are old enough to be altered. Dogs & Puppies: $200 The canine adoption fees include age-appropritate vaccines and testing for heartworm. We spay/neuter all dogs and puppies old enough for the procedures before they go home with you. We also offer low-cost options for spaying/neutering unaltered puppies when they are old enough to be altered. ADOPTION HOURS: * We show pets for adoption during the week by appointment. * We show CATS for adoption on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. No appointment is needed. * We also have open house from 12 noon to 4:00 on Saturdays - no appointment needed. We can be flexible if the listed adoption times do not work for you. We encourage people to come in during the week if at all possible. Saturday is our busiest day & things get quite hectic. If you choose to come on a Saturday, please understand that the wait can be quite lengthy. When coming to see pets, whether by appointment or during the open house, please expect to spend at least one hour at PAWS with the pets. It is important that you spend time with the pets in order to select a pet that is a good match for your family.
