Tell a friend about Lola

I was rescued from the streets when I was a kitten and went into foster. I was then adopted by a nice family who gave me a home and who I thought would love me forever. That is until the tornado. You see, I lived in an apartment building in Bridgeport when the tornado struck in June. The building was condemned and my family left me there and wouldn't let anyone come to get me. A Paws employee called everyone and was finally allowed into the apartment and resuced me. I came to Paws and it wasn't long before everyone learned what a mush I am. I absolutely LOVE attention, pets and sitting in people's laps. I'm cute, cuddly, playful...just all around perfect. My fur is silky, my eyes sparkle, and I can be chatty sometimes too. I'd like to find a more relaxed home. Not too quiet and not too busy. I've lived with other cats before and I'm ok with them. I've also lived with older children. I'd probably be fine with youner children as long as they know how to respect cats. While I'm ok being picked up and cuddled, when I want down, I want down. I've never lived with a dog, so that might not work out too well. I about 5 years old. I'm spayed, current on all my vaccinations and I've tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Let me purr-fect your life.

PAWS is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1962 by Westport, Connecticut resident Betty Long to rescue homeless dogs and place them in permanent homes. In the early 1980s, our rescue efforts were expanded to include cats. PAWS rescues & rehomes approximately 115 dogs and 435 cats annually. Many of the dogs faced euthanasia at local pounds and most of the cats that we help are strays and abandoned cats that roam our streets. A portion of the pets that come to PAWS have been relinquished by their owners who are no longer able to care for them. PAWS has a handful of paid staff and a team of dedicated volunteers that help with everything to fundraising, to kennel work, to walking dogs and much, much more. ADOPTION FEES: Effective July 1, 2008 The adoption fee helps us defray the cost of the animal's food, boarding and medical care. Any additional donation you would like to make above the adoption fee is greatly appreciated. Your contributions are tax deductible.   Cats & Kittens: $90 The feline adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccines and testing for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia for kittens over 12 weeks of age (Please Note: No test is 100% accurate for these viruses). We spay/neuter all cats and kittens old enough for the procedures before they go home with you. We also offer low-cost options for spaying/neutering unaltered kittens when they are old enough to be altered. Dogs & Puppies: $200 The canine adoption fees include age-appropritate vaccines and testing for heartworm. We spay/neuter all dogs and puppies old enough for the procedures before they go home with you. We also offer low-cost options for spaying/neutering unaltered puppies when they are old enough to be altered. ADOPTION HOURS: * We show pets for adoption during the week by appointment. * We show CATS for adoption on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. No appointment is needed. * We also have open house from 12 noon to 4:00 on Saturdays - no appointment needed. We can be flexible if the listed adoption times do not work for you. We encourage people to come in during the week if at all possible. Saturday is our busiest day & things get quite hectic. If you choose to come on a Saturday, please understand that the wait can be quite lengthy. When coming to see pets, whether by appointment or during the open house, please expect to spend at least one hour at PAWS with the pets. It is important that you spend time with the pets in order to select a pet that is a good match for your family.
